For the US spec 350 FEs and EXC-F the oil change intervals are in miles, 31 miles for the first service then every 500 miles roughly which is a little more reasonable than every 15 hours. However this is still excessive and most owners don't follow that.
2014+ 500 exc’s are FI. I remove the no FI 450 thing, I'm an idiot. You can absolutely daily a 450exc. I have a 2010 450 exc and in the last 100 hrs it has only needed oil changes and air filter maintenance. The XC4 motors did have an issue with oil migration due to a faulty sump seal, but that was mostly isolated to the 2008 and early 2009
Just a few more thoughts based on your last post: 1.2 liters is not enough oil, 0w-30 weight oil use maybe in Minnesota on a snowbike but KTM says to use 50-60 weight oil for proper oil pressure and protection (the oil you note is likely not the problem with oil spitting), as for most oil coming out of the plug nearest the plug near the
kuzman86. Posted October 20, 2010. I just bought a 2009 KTM 450EXC and put 800 miles on it. I rode it for 3 hours with the original oil. At 3 hours I put in dino oil and ran it until 10 hours and ran synthetic since. I changed the oil every 8 hours and cleaned the air filter every ride.
