UPDATE 1: I have also tried an app called "PS4 controller Tester," which let's you test two different "modes" of PS4 controller layouts. Unfortunately no remapping settings, just testing. Mode 1 in the app works perfectly as it should. Every button is correct. Mode 2 appears to match my situation in CoD Mobile and the other app.

Best workaround I've found its to add the Epic Launcher to Steam as a non-Steam game and run from there. You can also create a desktop shortcut via Steam so it's quicker to access. Tried this and not working. Launched fortnite and GTA5 from epic launcher using steam but no luck.

I have plugged in my official Xbox micro USB cable in to my PC to play Fortnite with my xbox one controller.
