Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition NOT LAUNCHING. So, recently I got the Ultimate Edition for Fallout: New Vegas. Apparently, according to Mojave logic, this is an end-of-the-world scenario, as now it no longer launches. It had been working just perfectly fine beforehand. I've already completed the game once, and was hoping to do so, this time Yes, the Ultimate Edition will just download the DLC's and you don't have to start a new game to play them. When the download is complete, just go to data files on the main menu and make sure the DLC's have a check mark in the box next to their names. #1. Milord Nov 2, 2014 @ 1:57am. The difference between the two games fun level is Skyrim has bows, swords and magic, while New Vegas has guns, grenades and mini nukes. I strongly suggest you play both games! If it's lagging when in the open and looking out could be your graphics card is a bit weak, or the RAM/processor is too slow creating microstutter. Or, mods are to blame. Otherwise there isn't much you can do since Fallout's combat limits difficulty to just "shoot more". There used to be a mod called Mart's Monster Mod (iirc) that added a hundred new enemies that were significantly more difficult to kill. There were new ghoul types, animals, super mutants (it readded Super Mutant Behemoths :o), and many more.
